The City of Asotin Fire Department has a history stretching back into the early 1900’s.  It is operated as a volunteer station and responds to calls for service, whether Fire or EMS, not only in the city itself but throughout the area.  The Fire Department has Mutual Aid and Auto Aid agreements with other surrounding departments, to ensure the citizens of the town are protected.  The city owns a structure engine and a wildland brush truck.

Through agreements with Asotin County Fire District #1, the fire station operates an additional structure engine as well as an additional brush truck that doubles as the city’s EMS- Quick Response Unit (QRU).  In addition to emergency call response, the department’s EMTs provide medical standby for various events throughout the year.  The department also participates and hosts many events throughout the year for educational and community service.
