The Asotin Fire Department started a JR program in 2015.  Community Youth ages 15-18, train side by side with our volunteers in all aspects of the fire service.  The training is all encompassing, from learning how to properly fold a flag, engine operations, search and rescue to advanced EMS skills.  After completing mandatory training, if interested the participants are allowed to respond to calls and assist our members.  They have assisted with wildland fires, yellow zone structure fires and EMS calls.  When qualified these youth are asked to join our ranks as a full member.  The department as well as other areas have benefited from this program by placing trained personnel in their ranks that continue on in the fire service.
